Titans of Transformation

Partnerships that combine deep expertise with cutting-edge innovation are rare and invaluable. The recently announced collaboration between Rimini Street and ServiceNow represents just such a union – a powerful alliance poised to tackle some of the IT industry’s most formidable challenges. This partnership brings together two companies with parallel 20-year histories of disruption and innovation, each led by visionaries who reshaped their respective industries.

Rimini Street: Pioneering Third-Party Enterprise Software Support

In 2005 Seth Ravin established Rimini Street with a vision to transform and to challenge the traditional model of enterprise software support. A veteran of the enterprise software industry, Seth recognized that many organizations were dissatisfied with the high costs and often perceived low value of vendor-provided support for their mission-critical ERP systems.

Rimini Street introduced a third-party support model that promised to deliver higher quality service at a fraction of the cost of traditional vendor support. This approach was particularly appealing to organizations that had stable, customized, and mature ERP systems and did not want to re embark on the journey of re platforming.

By offering support for a wide range of enterprise software, including products from Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft and over 100 additional applications, Rimini Street has become a catalyst in the industry. Our model allows enterprises to extend the life of existing software investments and free up resources for innovation and strategic initiatives.

ServiceNow: Revolutionizing IT Service Management

At nearly the same time that Rimini Street was established, Fred Luddy founded ServiceNow with an equally disruptive vision of the way IT services were delivered and managed. Luddy, drawing from his extensive experience in the software industry, recognized the limitations of existing IT service management (ITSM) solutions. He saw an opportunity to create a cloud-based platform that could streamline IT operations, improve service delivery, and enhance user experiences via new workflows.

ServiceNow’s cloud-native approach was revolutionary at a time when on-premises solutions dominated the market. By offering ITSM as a Service (SaaS), ServiceNow made powerful IT management tools accessible to organizations of all sizes, without the need for extensive infrastructure investments. This approach not only democratized access to advanced ITSM capabilities but also ensured that organizations could always benefit from the latest features and improvements without the hassle of complex upgrades.

Bill McDermott took over the reins of ServiceNow in 2019 after a long and dynamic career leading SAP.  Since Bill became CEO, ServiceNow has amplified its vision, evolving from a workflow platform to a comprehensive enterprise solution championing digital transformation. Bill’s focus on cross-enterprise integration has fostered new partnerships and expansions, allowing clients to streamline workflows and achieve seamless interoperability across ServiceNow’s suite and beyond.

Bill has positioned ServiceNow as a leader in enterprise-wide AI, embedding intelligent automation into core services. By integrating AI across workflows, ServiceNow enables clients to proactively address operational needs, predict issues, and optimize performance, offering clients unmatched efficiency and a competitive edge through AI-driven innovation.

With a shared legacy in ERP and a long-standing professional relationship, Bill and Seth are now uniting to tackle ERP innovation, maximizing their collective expertise to drive transformative solutions for enterprises.

The Power of Partnership

On October 23, 2024, Rimini Street and ServiceNow announced our partnership to help change the way leaders in all parts of an organization view the collaboration between people and technology as we bring new innovation and new thinking, to the ERP space. Together we are helping organizations re-imagine how they view software lifecycles, how they view digital services, and how to redesign the underlying service architecture.

The collaboration between Rimini Street and ServiceNow represents a convergence of these parallel paths of innovation and the combination of service, support, and architecture. By combining ServiceNow’s expertise in automation, user experience, and AI with Rimini Street’s deep knowledge of mission-critical transaction systems like ERP, this partnership offers a unique value proposition to enterprises worldwide.

Transformation without Disruption

Many organizations have invested decades in developing and refining their ERP systems, accumulating vast amounts of data, fine-tuning processes, and building institutional knowledge. These systems, while robust and tailored to specific business needs, often struggle to keep pace with the demands of digital transformation.  We know – we have been supporting these systems for decades.  We see the types of challenges enterprises experience, and we think there is a better way moving forward.

The Rimini Street-ServiceNow partnership addresses this challenge head-on. Instead of advocating for costly and risky “rip and replace” strategies, this collaboration focuses on extending the value of existing ERP investments.  To extend and discover additional value by “innovating around the edges” and introducing the new capabilities such as dynamic user experience and automation to specific functional areas versus the need to re-platform.

Where do we go next?

Please reach out to us and let’s have a conversation about your unique challenges, the organizational goals you are trying to achieve and the pressures you have to deliver change.

By leveraging ServiceNow’s powerful platform capabilities, and the expertise from Rimini Street, I am confident we can assist your organization to extend the value of your existing and operationally mature investments and accelerate your innovation timeline.
